Mailsnip takes email attachments, hosts them on our servers and returns you unique URLs pointing to those files.
There are many reasons, but here is one example: Email photos from your mobile phone and use the URLs that you receive back on Internet forums, or to share with friends.
Originally we made mailsnip because we wanted a simple way to post files on pendactive directly from our iPhones. It then occurred to us that other people may find it useful to upload files onto the Internet via email.
Mailsnip is free to use.
No. All you have to do is email us an attachment and you'll receive a URL back, simple as that.
The files will be kept on our servers until either you delete them, or they are not accessed for 6 months.
Yes. There is no way to find out which email address uploaded which file. Also, each file is given a unique name so that only people you share the link with will know it exists.
You can upload as many files as you like.
Your outgoing mail server will probably have a limit of around 10MB per email message. We have an incoming limit of 20MB per message. But due to the way that email is encoded, the actual maximum size of an attachment will be smaller than the limit.
Please check your spam folder. If you still haven't received an email within a few minutes, please contact us.
Along with a URL pointing to your files, you will also receive a special link to delete them.
Sorry, you can't. Please keep the email that you receive from us in a safe place.
You can upload anything you like, as long as you are legally allowed to. Use common sense, don't do bad things otherwise you lose the good things.
